Axle Nut: Specifications
Rear Axle Nut Tightening Torque
Inner Adjusting Nut
Step 1
50 lb ft
Tighten the inner wheel bearing adjuster nut while
rotating the wheel hub assembly.
Step 2
Loosen Nut
Step 3
35 lb ft
Tighten the inner wheel bearing adjuster nut while
rotating the wheel hub assembly.
Step 4
Loosen 135-150 Degrees
Turn counterclockwise
Outer Adjusting Nut Step 5
65 lb ft
Front Spindle Nut Tightening Torque
Step 1
12 lb ft
Tighten while rotating the wheel and tire assembly.
Step 2
Loosen One Flat
If the hole in the spindle does not line up with the slot
in the nut, back off the nut until the hole and the slot
line up. DO NOT BACK OFF MORE THAN ONE ADDITIONAL FLAT.
