REFINISHING BRAKE ROTOR SURFACES

Model and Year:

1988 K1-2 TRUCK

TO:

ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

1988 K1-2 model vehicles utilize "composite" front brake rotors. When refacing (turning) such rotors it is extremely important that the rotor be secured
to the turning lathe exactly as it is mounted on the vehicle. To accomplish this, brake rotor adaptor tool J-37620 must be used. Failure to use this tool can
cause distortion of the rotor while mounting it to the lathe, thus resulting in unparallel rotor surfaces. This condition can cause brake pedal pulsation
and/or vibration.

Adaptor tool J-37620 has been made part of the 1989 Chevrolet essential tool package and is scheduled for shipment to dealers late September, 1988.
