Water Pump: Service and Repair

    Water pump is serviced as an assembly only.

1.

Disconnect battery cable and drain cooling system.

2.

Loosen alternator adjusting bolt and remove fan belt.

3.

Remove fan and pulley.

4.

Disconnect radiator and heater hose at pump, then remove water pump retaining bolts and pump.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque water pump retaining bolts to 15 ft. lbs.
