Dear Chevrolet Owner:
Chevrolet records indicate that you were the original owner of a 1981-84 Chevrolet Chevette equipped with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine, air conditioning,
and power steering. General Motors has determined that the crankshaft pulley bolt on some of these vehicles may have fractured, causing the accessory
drive pulley to separate from the crankshaft.
Since you were the original owner of one of these vehicles, and GM is now offering preventative service at its expense to current owners, we are pleased
to notify you that if your Chevette previously experienced a pulley bolt fracture, and you paid for all or part of the repairs, you may request
reimbursement through your Chevrolet dealer. When doing so, you should provide documentation confirming the amount of unreimbursed repair
expenses due to a pulley bolt fracture, the date of the repair, and the person or entity performing the repair. Documented unreimbursed towing expenses
up to $25 per occurrence will also be reimbursed. All requests for reimbursement must be presented to the dealer on or before March 1, 1988.
If you experienced a pulley bolt failure in your Chevette, we regret any
