Carburetor Float: Adjustments

1. Remove air horn, gasket and upper float bowl insert, if equipped.
2. Attach base tool J-34817-1 or BT-8227A-1 to float bowl, Fig. 8.
3. Position tool J-34817-3 or BT-8227A into base, ensuring contact pin rests on outer edge of float lever.
4. Using adjustable T-scale, measure distance from top of casting to top of float, at point farthest from float hinge.
5. If float adjustment is not within 2/32 inch from specification, bend lever up or down as required with tool shown, Fig. 8.
6. Remove bending tool, then repeat steps 2 through 4.
7. Check float alignment, then reassemble carburetor.
