Engine Coolant Thermostat And Water Outlet

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Open radiator drain cock and drain engine coolant from radiator to below level of engine coolant thermostat.
2. Close radiator drain cock and tighten to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
3. EGR valve outlet pipe bolts/screws from upper intake and EGR valve adapter.
4. EGR valve outlet pipe.
5. Loosen hose clamp and remove inlet hose (11) from water outlet.
6. Water outlet bolts/screws (12).
7. Water outlet (11).
8. Water outlet gasket (16).
9. Engine coolant thermostat (13).

10. Clean gasket surfaces of water outlet and upper intake manifold.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Engine coolant thermostat into upper intake manifold.
2. New water outlet gasket.
3. Water outlet.
4. Water outlet bolts/screws and tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).
5. Inlet hose to water outlet and tighten hose clamp.
6. EGR valve outlet pipe.
7. EGR valve outlet pipe bolt/screw to upper intake and EGR valve adapter. Tighten EGR valve outlet pipe bolt/screw to upper intake to 25 Nm (18

lb ft) and the EGR valve outlet pipe nut to EGR valve adapter to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

8. Add engine coolant, refer to System Draining, Flushing and Filling.
9. Inspect for leaks, after running engine to normal operating temperature.
