Oil Pan: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL PAN REPLACEMENT

1. Relieve fuel pressure.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil.
3. Disconnect oil level sensor electrical connector.

NOTICE:

The oil level sensor (located in the oil pan), must be removed before the oil pan. It the oil pan and baffle are removed first, damage to the sensor
may occur when the baffle contacts the sensor.

4. Remove oil level sensor.
5. Remove oil pan retaining bolts, then the oil pan.
6. Remove old oil pan gasket and discard.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Install oil pan and gasket.

TIGHTEN

Oil Pan Bolts .....................................................................................................................................................................  14 Nm (125 inch lbs.).

2. Install oil level sensor.
3. Connect oil level sensor electrical connector.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Refill engine oil.
