Tightening Sequence

4. Install the upper intake manifold bolts. Torque in sequence to:

-

Torque the vertical bolts in sequence to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

-

Torque the water outlet bolts in sequence to 27 Nm (20 lb ft).

-

Torque side bolts in sequence to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).

5. Fuel rail.

A. Lightly lubricate fuel injector O-rings using clean engine oil.
B. Install injectors of rail into bores of manifold.
C. Carefully press fuel rail with palms of both hands until injectors are fully seated.

6. Fuel rail nuts. Torque Fuel rail nuts to 10 Nm (89 in. lb.).
7. Electrical connectors to fuel injectors.
8. Thermostat and thermostat housing.
9. EGR valve outlet pipe.

10. Throttle body to upper intake manifold.
11. Air cleaner, air cleaner outlet duct and resonator duct.
12. Wiring harness to rosebud clip.
13. Electrical connectors to the following:

-

Idle Air Control (IAC).

-

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

-

Mass airflow sensor (MAF).

14. Generator brace to upper intake manifold.
15. Brake booster hose to upper intake manifold.
16. Ignition control module.
17. Accelerator control cable bracket bolts/screws, bracket and accelerator control cables to throttle body. Torque accelerator cable bracket

bolts/screws to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).

18. Fuel lines to fuel rail.
19. Idle air control (IAC) valve to upper intake manifold.
20. Fuel pressure regulator and canister purge harness.
21. Evaporative emissions canister purge solenoid valve.
22. Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor and vacuum source to upper intake manifold.
23. Serpentine drive belt tensioner.
24. Generator.
25. Transmission level indicator.
26. Serpentine drive belt.
27. Refill engine coolant.
28. Negative battery cable.
