Drive/Propeller Shaft: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then mark relationship of propeller shaft assembly to pinion gear yoke.
2. On two-piece propeller shafts, remove bolts from center support bearing.
3. Remove center support bearing and washers from torque arm assembly.
4. On all propeller shafts, remove bolts and retainers, then the propeller shaft.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Tighten fasteners to specifications.
b. Lubricate slip yoke with .6 ounces of propeller shaft slip yoke lubricant 1050169, or equivalent.
c. Align marks on pinion gear yoke and propeller shaft.
