CAMARO
1.
Raise and support vehicle and remove wheel.
2.
Remove stabilizer link and bushings from lower control arm.
3.
Remove pivot bolt nuts, leaving the bolts installed.
4.
Install tool J-23028 onto a suitable jack and position so that tool supports bushings, Fig. 8.
5.
Raise jack to relieve tension on pivot bolts and remove bolts.
6.
Carefully lower jack until tension is removed from spring and remove spring from vehicle.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque pivot bolt nuts to 65 ft. lbs. and stabilizer link nut to 20 ft. lbs. The spring force under compression is very
great. Exercise every safety precaution when performing this operation to see that individuals and materials subject to damage are
removed from the path of the spring when the control arm is being lowered. Also, the compressed spring should be relaxed immediately
after lowering the control arm to reduce the time of exposure to the great compressive force.
