Circuit Operation
The Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system is a subsystem of the Body Control Module (BCM) which is designed to provide convenience and
increased security. The RAP system applies battery voltage to Radio Fuse 17 and Windows Circuit Breaker and allows operation of the Power Folding
Top, Radio and Power Windows for approximately 10 minutes after the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF" or until a door is opened. The RAP system
also allows operation of the Door Locks and Rear Compartment Lid Release (from Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter) with the Ignition Switch in
"OFF" whenever either door is open or for 35 seconds after both doors are closed. If Universal Theft Deterrent System (UTD) is armed before the 35
second time-out, the unlock command is disabled. All components in these circuits are enabled as long as the Ignition Switch is in "ACCY" or "RUN."
When the Ignition Switch is turned to "OFF" and both doors remain closed, the components in these circuits are enabled for approximately 10 minutes.
If either door opens, the 10 minute timer cancels, and the Door Locks remain enabled for as long as the door is opened. (Door Locks will not operate
