This condition may be caused by a ridge in the fascia material under the paint, on the edge of the fascia. This ridge creates a high spot that can come in
contact with the body sheet metal. This contact may rub through the paint and cause the paint to peel away from the fascia.

Correction 2

Use the following steps to correct the condition if the front bumper fascia paint is peeling.

1. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement in SI.

2. Sand down the ridge on the fascia, as shown, in order to remove the hard edge and allow clearance to the body.
3. Repair any peeling paint.
4. Color/clearcoat as required.
5. Reinstall the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement in SI.
