Condition
Some customers may comment that when they have the A/C on, they feel moisture coming from the center HVAC vent. They may also notice that the
front and back floor carpet is wet.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a collapsed A/C drain grommet, resulting in a buildup of water in the HVAC module.
Correction
Remove the A/C drain pass-thru grommet and realign drain tube using the procedure listed below.
Note
If carpet is wet, it must be removed and dried.
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in SI.
2. Support the transmission with a suitable transmission jack.
3. Remove the transmission support retaining bolts (1).
4. Slightly lower the transmission. This will allow access to the HVAC drain tube and grommet.
