12. Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) from the steering gear.
13. On the driver's side, remove the steering gear from the vehicle through the front wheel house.

Installation Procedure

1. Verify the steering gear is in the straight ahead position.
2. Position the steering gear on the front frame.

Note:  Install the bolts in sequence. Do not tighten the bolts to the specification yet.

3. Install, but do not tighten, the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) in order to retain the steering gear to the front frame.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

Note:  Tighten the bolts in sequence.

4. Tighten the 4 bolts in sequence to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
