1. Clean the differential case in solvent.
2. Inspect the differential case for the following conditions:

Chips or cracks
*
Damage to the bolts holes (2)
*
Unusual wear, grooves or scoring
*
Damaged side bearing flanges (1)
*
Heat discoloration
*
Worn differential pin bores (3)
