Test D: Coolant Fan & Auxiliary Coolant Fan Open Test
1.
With ignition switch in RUN position, disconnect auxiliary coolant fan relay and connect a suitable voltmeter between terminal E (orange) and
ground. If battery voltage is not obtained, check fusible link D and orange wire for open, then connect voltmeter between terminal D (brown) and
ground. If battery voltage is not obtained, check FAN/FP fuse and brown wire for open. If battery voltage was obtained, proceed to step 2.

With auxiliary coolant fan relay connector disconnected, connect a 20 amp fused jumper wire between terminals E (orange) and A (black/pink). If
coolant fan runs, proceed to step 4. If coolant fan does not run, leave jumper in place and proceed to step 3.

Disconnect auxiliary coolant fan connector, then connect a voltmeter between terminal D (black/pink) and ground. If battery voltage is not
obtained, check black/pink wire for open, then connect voltmeter between terminals B (black/pink) and A (black). If battery voltage is not
obtained, check black wire for open. If battery voltage was obtained, repair or replace coolant fan.
4.
Reconnect coolant fan relay and connect a fused jumper wire from auxiliary coolant fan switch connector to ground. If coolant fan runs, check or
replace coolant fan switch. If coolant fan does not run, check gray and black wires for open. If wires are satisfactory, check or replace coolant fan
relay.
