Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

IMPORTANT: Care must be taken when handling engine coolant (ECT) temperature sensor.  Damage to engine coolant sensor will affect proper
operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Relieve coolant pressure.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Carefully back out sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Coat threads with sealer.
2. Install sensor in engine.
3. Torque to 23 Nm (17 ft lb).
4. Connect electrical connector.
5. Refill lost coolant.
6. Connect negative battery cable.
