Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation
Most vehicles with Computer Command Control (C-3) or Electronic Fuel Injection (DFI, TBI, MFI, etc.) use a solenoid to control vacuum signals
transmitted to the canister purge valve. This solenoid allows the system Electronic Control Module (ECM) to control canister purge operation. For
diagnosis and testing of canister purge solenoids, refer to ``Computer Command Control (C-3) System'' or ``Electronic Fuel Injection'' diagnosis sections.
