Number:

Section:

3B

Date:

May 1992

Corporate Bulletin No.: 233203

ASE No.: A4

Subject:
MOAN OR SQUEAK NOISE FROM UNDERHOOD STEERING SHAFT AREA

Model and Year:
1992 CAPRICE

Condition:
A moan or squeak noise may be heard on some 1992 B-cars coming from the underhood steering shaft area transmitted through the steering column into
the vehicle passenger compartment. This condition is most noticeable while making parking lot maneuvers.

Cause:
The ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) pipe adjacent to the plastic stone shield may contact and load the underside of the shield, causing the shield to rub
on the rubber center bushing inside the shield.
