Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
Forward Sensors

Left & Right Sensors

1.

Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.

2.

Remove battery if necessary for access to right sensor.

3.

Remove radiator support baffle.

4.

Disconnect CPA and electrical connector from radiator support.

5.

Remove mounting screws from sensor, then remove sensor.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Install sensor with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle.
b. Torque mounting screws to 25 inch lbs.
c. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
d. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not

respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
