(REPLACE TEMPERATURE CONTROL CABLE)
MODELS:
1994 CHEVROLET CAPRICE FOR VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE VIN RR134901
CONDITION:
Customers may comment about insufficient A/C performance when in the A/C mode, at the full cold setting.
CAUSE:
The temperature cable does not allow the temperature valve to fully seat in the full cold setting.
DIAGNOSIS:
Refer to the Air Conditioning Performance Test in Heating and Air Conditioning and the System Performance Chart to verify the problem.
CORRECTION:
If operating temperatures are found to be out of the normal range, verify that the temperature valve door is seating in the full hot and full cold positions.
This can be done by quickly rotating the temperature knob and listening for door closure.
If the door cannot be heard seating, install a new temperature cable (P/N 10265205). The new cable is set to allow seating at the temperature valve in full
cold and full hot positions.
To replace the cable follow the procedure in Heating and Air Conditioning.
After installation check outlet temperatures with the system performance chart in Heating and Air Conditioning.
