Heater Core: Service and Repair
HEATER CORE
Heater Hose Assemblies
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain engine coolant.
2. Heater inlet and outlet hose assembly clamps (51) from heater core inlet and outlet tubes.
3. Heater outlet and inlet hose assemblies (52 or 53) from heater core.
4. Heater and air conditioning evaporator module lower case. See: Housing Assembly HVAC/Service and Repair
5. Heater core.
A. Remove heater core mounting straps and bolts/ screws.
B. Pull heater core rearward, working heater core inlet and outlet tubes out of seal.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Heater core.
A. Move heater core into position, carefully guiding heater core inlet and outlet tubes through round holes in tube seal at cowl panel.
B. Install heater core mounting straps and bolts/screws.
2. Heater and air conditioning evaporator module lower case. See: Housing Assembly HVAC/Service and Repair
3. Heater outlet and inlet hose assemblies (52 or 53) to heater core.
4. Heater inlet and outlet assembly clamps (51) to heater core inlet and outlet tubes.
5. Refill and bleed engine coolant. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair
INSPECT

With engine warmed up and running, and with heater and air conditioning control assembly set for maximum heating, inspect heater outlet and
inlet hose assemblies (52 and 53) for leaks.

Also carefully feel hose assemblies (52 and 53) to ensure that warm engine coolant is flowing through heater core.
