Letter to Owner
February 26, 1993
Dear Chevrolet Caprice Owner:
This notice is sent to inform you that Chevrolet Motor Division is conducting a recall campaign that includes your vehicle.
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
General Motors has determined that certain 1992 Chevrolet Caprice model vehicles equipped with 4.3L V-6 engines have a positive battery cable which
may contact the engine exhaust manifold during engine operation and cause the battery cable insulation to melt. Exposed cable wiring may then "ground
out" intermittently against the engine exhaust manifold, possibly causing a drained battery.
