Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Pull and hold the cable towards the rear of the car in order to create slack in the cable.
3. Bend the tang (2) on the connector (1) in order to allow cable removal.
4. Disconnect the cable (3) from the connector (1).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the console. If you are repairing a Pontiac, also remove the shifter boot.
7. Move the lever to the OFF position.
8. Remove the cable conduit end fitting (2) from the handle assembly (1).
