Changing Oil and Filter

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Place A drain . pan under the transmission Oil Pan.
3. Remove the oil pan bolts from the front and the sides only.
4. Loosen the rear oil pan bolts approximately 4 turns.
5. Lightly tap the oil pan with a rubber mallet or pry in order to allow the oil to drain.

NOTICE:  Pry the oil pan down carefully in order to prevent damage to the transmission case or the Oil Pan sealing surfaces.

6. Inspect the oil color. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure.
7. Remove the remaining oil pan bolts.

8. Remove the oil pan.

9. Remove the oil pan gasket.
