Timing Chain: Service and Repair
Timing Chain, Sprockets, and/or Tensioner Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the camshaft cover.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the engine front cover.
5. Rotate the engine until the crankshaft sprocket mark aligns with the second silver link (2) at the 5 o'clock position.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the camshaft cover.
8. Ensure that the INT diamond on the intake camshaft sprocket is aligned with the copper link at (1) at the 2 o'clock position.
