Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Description and Operation
The coolant fan is turned on and off by the ECM based on inputs from the coolant temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor and the A/C system, if
equipped. Battery voltage is applied at all times to terminal 1 of the coolant fan relay and, when the ignition switch is in RUN position, battery voltage is
applied to terminal 5 of the relay. The ECM energizes the coolant fan relay by grounding circuit 335. The relay energizes and battery voltage is applied
to the coolant fan.
