Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove sound insulator.

2.

Remove steering column trim cover as follows:
a. On models less A/C, remove vent control housing.
b. On all models, remove trim cover attaching bolts, then lower cover.
c. Disconnect trunk/tailgate release switch electrical connector, then remove trim cover.

3.

Remove ashtray and ashtray retainer assembly attaching bolts, then ashtray retainer assembly.

4.

Remove fuse block attaching bolts and electrical connectors, then fuse block.

5.

Disconnect lighter and rear defogger switch electrical connectors, then remove lighter assembly.

6.

Remove accessory trim plate attaching screws, pull trim plate to release clips.

7.

Remove headlight and rear wiper/washer switch knobs, then accessory trim plate.

8.

Remove radio attaching screws, then pull out radio.

9.

Disconnect all electrical connectors from radio, then remove radio.

10.

Reverse procedure to install.
