1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2.
On 3.1L/V6-189 engine, remove vacuum line from top of coolant pump.
3.
On all models, remove serpentine drive belt, then water pump pulley.
4.
Remove water pump attaching bolts, then water pump Fig. 14.
5.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. On 2.8L/V6-173 engine, coat bolt thread with sealant No. 1052080 or equivalent.
b. On all models, torque all bolts/nuts to specifications.
