Some 1987-89 Celebrity models with 2.5L or 2.8L engine and MD9 automatic transaxle with C60 Air Conditioning have a potential rub through
condition of the A/C pipe by the transaxle shift cable. This pipe is part of the A/C hose assembly routed along the left fender rail from evaporator to
accumulator. The vibration and engine roll movement of the transaxle may cause the shift cable to rub through the A/C pipe, causing a refrigerant leak
and an inoperative A/c system.
This condition may be addressed by using the following service parts and procedure to protect the A/C pipe.
