Paint raw edge with black enamel.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Raise vehicle.
2.
Inspect clearance between engine mount bracket and engine oil filter (refer Illustration):
a.
Vehicles with 3 mm (minimum) require no further work. Lower vehicle, raise hood and install Campaign completion label, close hood.
b.
Vehicles with less than 3 mm clearance require rework. Proceed to Step 3.
3.
Remove oil filter. Protect oil filter opening in engine case from metal filings and dirt.
4.
Using a grinding wheel, grind off end of engine mount bracket to provide a (minimum) clearance of 3mm to oil filter (refer Illustration).
5.
Remove protection from oil filter housing.
6.
Reinstall oil filter. If original filter was damaged, install new filter (P/N 25010908).
7.
Lower vehicle.
8.
Raise hood, check oil level and fill as necessary.
9.
Install campaign completion label and close hood.
