Remove clip. Do not lose or damage clip; it will be reused.

Slip cable off throttle cable stud.
6)
To locate area of interference, install supplied gauge bushing on throttle cable stud. Make sure gauge bushing contacts shoulder on stud while
checking.
7)
Slowly rotate throttle lever through full travel.
8)
Bushing will contact the return spring retainer boss at area of interference. If bushing contacts boss, the boss must be filed to create clearance
for the throttle cable clip.
9)
Position a shop towel under boss to contain filing material.
10)
The point of contact must be removed by filing to allow bushing to completely pass the boss. Leave the bushing on stud while performing
filing operation.
11)
Carefully file retainer boss (a 3/8 square file is recommended).
NOTICE:
USE CARE AS TO NOT DAMAGE ANY WIRING, PLASTIC VACUUM LINES, PLASTIC SPRING RETAINER, OR
SPRINGS IN THE BOSS AREA.
12)
Occasionally check bushing (with bushing against cable stud shoulder) to see if sufficient clearance has been achieved. When bushing clears
casting through full throttle travel, stop filing. Remove the gauge bushing.
13)
Remove shop towel and all filing chips.
14)
Replace throttle cable on cable stud.
15)
Reinstall throttle cable clip, and recheck cable operation by rotating throttle lever through full travel.
16)
Install campaign label upon completion of the inspection and/or modification.
17)
Close hood.

basis. Additional gauges will be available through the zone offices as they may be required.

modification as outlined in Service Procedure.
