Engine Oil: Service and Repair

Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement 

Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the oil fill cap.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. 
3. Clean away all dirt and debris from the engine oil pan drain plug area.
4. Position an appropriate container under the engine oil pan.
5. Remove the oil pan drain plug. Allow the engine oil to drain into the container.

6. Position the container under the engine oil filter drain deflector.

Important:  Ensure the old oil filter seal is not left on the oil filter adapter.

7. Remove the oil filter using a suitable wrench. Allow the engine oil to drain to the oil filter drain deflector and into the container.
