Power Steering Pressure Control Valve: Service and Repair

Power Steering Pump Flow Control Valve Replacement - Off Vehicle 

Disassembly Procedure 

1. Remove the LOCTITE union fitting (5) from the hydraulic pump housing assembly (1).
2. Remove the LOCTITE seal (4) from the LOCTITE union fitting (5).
3. Remove the control valve assembly (3).
4. Remove the flow control spring (2).

Assembly Procedure 

1. Install the flow control spring (2) to the hydraulic pump housing assembly (1).
2. Install the control valve assembly (3).
3. Lubricate the new LOCTITE seal (4) with power steering fluid. 
4. Install the LOCTITE seal (4) on to the LOCTITE union fitting (5).

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the LOCTITE union fitting (5) into the hydraulic pump housing assembly (1).

Tighten the LOCTITE union fitting to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
