6. From inside the vehicle remove the upper intermediate shaft to dash stud nuts,
7. Remove the steering column. 

Important:  Note the direction of upper intermediate shaft to steering column pinch bolt for installation. The bolt must be installed in the same
direction it was removed.

8. Remove the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt.
9. Remove the upper intermediate shaft from the column.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the upper intermediate shaft to the column.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important:  The upper intermediate shaft to the steering column pinch bolt must be installed in the same direction it was removed or the pinch bolt
will contact the steering column housing.

2. Install the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt.

Tighten the upper intermediate shaft to steering column pinch bolt to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the steering column. 
4. From inside the vehicle install the upper intermediate shaft to dash stud nuts.

Tighten the upper intermediate shaft nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
