Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important: The multifunction, turn signal switch and the SIR coil are serviced as an assembly.
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution.
1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering wheel from the steering column.
3. Remove the steering column trim covers.
4. Remove the wire harness straps from the wire harness assembly.
5. Disconnect the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly connector from the base of the column.
6. Remove the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly lead from the wire harness assembly.
7. Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws from the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly.
8. Slide the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly off of the steering column. Discard the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly if replacing.
Installation Procedure
Important: A new multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly will come precentered with a centering tab attached. Do NOT remove the
centering tab until installation is complete. Failure to follow procedure will cause a misalignment to the SIR coil and centering will be
required.
If reusing the existing multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly, you must center the SIR coil. Refer to centering the SIR coil assembly.
