Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
Forward Sensors

1.

Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.

2.

Remove right outer radiator upper air baffle.

3.

Remove CPA and disconnect sensor electrical connector.

4.

Remove wiring clips from upper radiator tie bar, then remove bolts securing bracket to upper radiator tie bar.

5.

Remove nuts securing sensor to bracket.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install sensor with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle.
b. Torque sensor mounting nuts and bolts to 80 inch lbs.
c. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
d. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not

respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
