Engine Compartment Fuel Pipes

Engine Compartment Fuel Hoses

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Quick-connect fittings at engine compartment fuel feed and return connecting lines. 
3. Plug fuel lines.
4. Engine fuel feed and return pipe retainer and screws.
5. Fuel pipe from regulator using back-up wrench.
6. Fuel pipe from fuel rail.
7. Discard 0-rings.

CLEAN

NOTE:  If it is necessary to remove rust or burrs from the male tube end of a quick-connect fitting: use emery cloth in a radial motion with the
tube end to prevent damage to 0-ring sealing surfaces.

Using a clean shop towel, wipe off male tube ends.

Inspect all connectors for dirt and burrs. Clean or replace components/assemblies as required.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. New 0-rings.
2. Fuel pipe to fuel rail.

Tighten
Retainer screw to regulator to 6 Nm (53 lb in).

3. Fuel pipe to fuel rail using back-up wrench.

Tighten
Fuel fitting to 30 Nm (22 lb in).

4. Quick-connect fittings.
5. Fuel line retainer.
6. Fuel line clamps and screws.

Tighten
Fuel line clamp screws to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
