Camshaft: Service and Repair
1.
Remove engine from vehicle, refer to ENGINE for procedure.
2.
Remove valve lifters, refer to VALVE LIFTERS for procedure.
3.
Remove engine front cover, refer to FRONT COVER procedure.
4.
Remove timing chain and sprocket. Refer to TIMING CHAIN & SPROCKET for procedure.
5.
Remove camshaft. Use caution not to damage bearings during camshaft removal.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Coat camshaft lobes with GM E.O.S. 1052367 or equivalent prior to installation.
