Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove horn pad attaching screws from behind steering wheel spokes, then pull horn pad away from steering wheel, disconnect horn wire and
remove pad.

3.

If necessary, remove horn pad damper.

4.

Remove retainer from end of steering column, then remove steering wheel retaining nut.

5.

Scribe reference marks on steering wheel hub and steering shaft, then using puller, tool No. J-1859-03, remove steering wheel.

6.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:

a. Torque steering wheel retaining nut to 30 ft. lbs.
