This bulletin is being revised to correct text in Paragraph 1. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 53-81-25 (Section 8 - Chassis/Body Electrical).
When placing the Multi-function Alarm Module in the Power Output Diagnostic Mode, 4 failure modes can be set. The 1995 and 1996 Service
information does not list the fourth failure mode and should be updated as follows.
When the Multi-function Alarm Module chimes 4 times every 3 seconds during the Power Output Diagnostic Mode, a failure of the seat belt door
retractor solenoids has been detected and the appropriate diagnostic chart in Section 8A-146 should be referred to. Once the necessary repairs have been
performed, reset the Multi-function Alarm Module by removing fuse 11 or the Alarm fuse as noted in Section 8A-76.
The procedure to place the Multi-function Alarm Module in the Power Output Diagnostic Mode is listed in Section 8A-76 but should also be added to
Section 8A-146. The procedure is as follows:
1.
Close front doors.
2.
Set park brake.
3.
Turn interior lights on using panel dimmer switch.
4.
Turn ignition switch to "Run" and before 15 seconds elapse, perform the following steps:
a.
Open RH front door.
b.
Cycle headlamp switch from "Park" to "Off" 3 times.
