Power Steering Valve: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

Replace

1.

Loosen relay rod-to-control valve clamp.

2.

Disconnect hose connections at control valve.

3.

Disconnect control valve from pitman arm.

4.

Unscrew control valve from relay rod, Fig. 10.

5.

Remove control valve from car.

6.

Reverse procedure to install. Torque relay rod clamp bolt to 25 ft. lbs. Torque pitman arm nut to 45 ft. lbs. plus additional torque required to align
castellation with hole in stud not to exceed 50 ft. lbs.
