Piston: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLE

Tools Required - J24036-C Piston Pin Remover/Installer

1. Remove the piston rings from the piston.

2. Select fork insert piston pin remover/installer and install the fork into the press.
3. Install the piston and connecting rod assembly onto the piston pin remover/installer.

NOTE:  After the installer hub bottoms on the support assembly, do not exceed 35000 kPa (5000 psi) pressure, this could cause damage to the
tool.

4. Use the piston pin remover/installer in order to remove the piston pin from the piston and connecting rod assembly.
5. The piston and pin are a matched set and are not to be serviced separately. Mark, sort, or organize the piston to the matching piston pin. Refer to

Separating Parts. See: Service and Repair/Separating Parts

6. Clean and inspect all components.
