Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the I/P lower trim panel.
3. Disconnect the stoplamp connector.
4. Remove the stoplamp switch.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the stoplamp switch.
2. Adjust the stoplamp switch.
3. Connect the stoplamp switch connector.
4. Install the l/P lower trim panel.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
Fasteners requiring replacement, or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener
torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners
in order to avoid damage to parts and system.
