Recall 97V108000: Accelerator Pedal Sticking
In some 1997 production pedal module assemblies, when tested with one spring disconnected at below -32 degree temperatures, the pedal lever may not
return to idle condition within the specified time. This does not meet the requirements of FMVSS No. 124, "Accelerator Control Systems." See note.
General Motors has not submitted a corrective action for this noncompliance.
NOTE: The manufacturer is petitioning NHTSA for a determination that this matter is inconsequential with respect to motor vehicle safety. The
manufacturer is not obligated to conduct an owner notification and remedy campaign until NHTSA has resolved that the matter is consequential.
