Steering Column Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.
2. Remove the steering column cowl gasket.
3. Remove the steering wheel position sensor seal.
4. Remove the dust cover (3) from the steering wheel position sensor (2).
5. Remove the steering wheel position sensor (2) from the retainer (1) at the bottom of the steering wheel.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the steering wheel position (1) sensor into the adaptor (2) on the bottom of the steering column.
2. Remove the lock pin from the steering wheel position sensor.
3. Install the steering wheel position sensor seal onto the steering wheel position sensor.
4. Install the steering column cowl gasket.
5. Install the steering column into the vehicle.
