Installation Procedure
1. Install the flow control spring to the housing.
2. Install the control valve assembly to the housing.
3. Install the new O-ring seal onto the union fitting lubricated with power steering fluid.
4. Install the union fitting into the pump housing.

Tighten the union fitting (16) to 75.0 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
Notice: Always use the correct fastener In the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that
application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the
fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases,
or other corrosion Inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque
and joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications.
Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.
5. Install the pump assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump and Bracket.
Drive Shaft Seal
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the pump assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump and Bracket.
2. Remove the retaining ring (3) from the housing (1).
3. Remove the drive shaft and the ball bearing assembly from the housing.
a. Measure the clearance before bearing removal when clearance exists between the drive shaft shoulder and the bearing inner race.
b. Remove the bearing from the shaft.
