Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair
Quick Connect Fitting(S) Service (Plastic Collar)
QUICK CONNECT FITTING(S) SERVICE (PLASTIC COLLAR)
TOOL REQUIRED
J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gage
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing any fuel system connection. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Using compressed air, blow any dirt out of the quick-connect fitting.
CAUTION: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.
3. Squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs.
IMPORTANT: Plastic quick connect fittings can be released either by squeezing the plastic retainer release tabs (step 3) or by using the appropriate
J 37088-A Fuel Line Quick Connect Separator Tool (step 4).
4. Choose the correct tool from the J 37088-A Tool Set for the size of the fitting. Insert the tool into the female connector, then push inward in order
to release the locking tabs. The plastic retainer will remain on the female connector.
