Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Bumper Bracket Rusted (Replace Bracket)
Models:
2005-2008 Chevrolet Corvette
with Convertible Top (RPO CM7)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the folding top stowage compartment lid bumper bracket is rusted.
Correction
Replace the folding top stowage compartment lid bumper bracket using the procedure listed below.
1.
Remove the rear compartment (deck) lid. Mark the location of the hinges to the body and remove the bolts.
2.
Remove the folding top stowage compartment lid. Mark the location of the hinges to the lid and remove the bolts.
3.
Measure the distance of the folding top stowage compartment lid adjusting bumper in the existing bracket from the top of the bracket to the top of
the bumper. Record this measurement. This will aid in setting the height when reinstalling the bumper.
4.
Remove the bumper and the plug from the existing bracket.
