Water Pump: Service and Repair
Water Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and
Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory) .
3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (See: Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and
Filling (Static Fill) (See: Service and Repair) .
4. Reposition the inlet and outlet hose clamps at the water pump.
5. Remove the inlet and outlet hoses from the water pump.
